William Carlos Williams said in one of his poems:

“It is difficult

to get the news from poems

yet men die miserably every day

for lack

of what is found there.”

The same is true for art.

It has been said that one of the “names” for love is “paying attention in order to understand.”

Each of the Artists of Gallery One pays attention in their unique way to their own chosen interest, to their own silent voice. By dwelling in their creative process for extended periods of time, they each gain a deeper and richer understanding of the meaning in their work. If the underlying truth of existence is universal consciousness, then this is a powerful healing force. Each artist has written a brief statement about their work in this light. We invite you to "pay attention" to the work, and, if you wish, view the artists' statements in the Artists Statements binder.
